New Springs Legion Lions are a community based club and welcome anyone who wants to participate in any of their rugby teams. The club are forming a new U11s teamfor the coming season and wish to encourage children from local schools to be part of their setup. Abigail Kevil (team Captain) presented the certificate to Mr Mason with other members of the team present - Candice Brennan, Edward Shaw, Jack Winstanley, Aaron Foy, Georgia Powell, Max Meyers, Adam McGuire, Callum Porter.

In addition to the great work the club are doing in the schools, one of the young players has taken it upon himself to raise money for a playing kit for the team, he has written letters to many people in the area including Brian Noble and Steve McCormack, coaches of Wigan and Widnes respectively. The picture below shows 9yr old Edward Shaw receiving a autographed match ball from Steve McCormack. It is Edward’s intention to raffle the ball to raise money to put it towards the cost of kit for his team. He is still awaiting a response from Brian Noble.
